In 1987, Matthew Hollard commenced the fulfillment of a life-long dream by commencing his apprenticeship as a carpenter and joiner specialising in staircase building with the Australian company, Slattery & Acquroff. Under the guidance of the Acquroff and Beard families, Matt excelled in his chosen career.

In 1993, Matthew came first in the category of detailed joinery at the Australian Workskills, winning the gold medal and the honour of representing his country in his chosen craft at the International Skill Olympics held in Taiwan.

Inspired by the excellent workmanship produced around the world, Matt's vision was to establish a world class staircase company in Australia, producing the highest quality staircases and related components, for the homes and workplaces of Australia.

In 1995, MCH Geometrics was formed. Based in Glen Waverley, Victoria, the company employs and trains craftspeople with the desire to provide unique and aesthetically pleasing staircases that a client is proud to have in their home or workplace. In many cases, a staircase welcomes guests or clients, introducing them through the art form of an impressive staircase to the ambience and ethos of the home or workplace.

MCH Geometrics caters for all tastes and style of staircase requirements, providing a range of timber, or combined steel and timber staircases to suit a particular period that is to be created. The company is one of the few in Australia that specialises in the graciously impressive goemetric staircases that become a showpiece in any home.

The MCH Geometrics design facility provides architects and clients with experienced expert advice for the stair most suitable for a proposed installation. Matthew's creative flair for visualising the right style and design to suit the location is translated onto a plan that provides both the intricate detail and finished impression for the staircase project.
